The Aqara Door and Window Sensor is compatible with Apple HomeKit and Amazon Alexa, allowing it to connect with countless smart devices in the world to create your ideal smart home lifestyle. An Aqara Hub is required, and the sensor should be connected to the hub before connecting to Apple HomeKit or enabling skills in Alexa. The Aqara Door and Window Sensor is not compatible with SmartThings currently.

The Aqara Door and Window Sensor is a smart sensor for every door and window, providing added peace of mind. It detects the current status of doors or windows via the distance of the magnets inside the sensors between the sensor and the magnet. The sensor is also energy-efficient, with one battery lasting over 2 years under normal usage.

When you open the door in the evening, the Aqara Door and Window Sensor will send a signal to the Aqara Wall Switch to turn on the lights, ensuring that your home is illuminated whenever you arrive. This feature requires an Aqara Hub.

The Aqara Door and Window Sensor works with most types of doors, windows, and other fixtures with similar mechanisms, such as drawers and cabinets. The sensor can be installed on surfaces that are flat and easily adhesive, with a gap of up to 0.86 inches between the door and the sensor.

The Aqara Door and Window Sensor also offers advanced features, including unauthorized entry detection and home automation. It can alert your phone and trigger the Aqara Hub's local alarm upon unexpected door or window openings, and it can also control other Aqara devices based on door or window status. You can set up automations in the Aqara Home app, such as turning on the lights when the door is opened in the evening.

For a hands-free experience, the Aqara Door and Window Sensor is compatible with Apple HomeKit and Alexa. However, it is important to note that the sensor must be connected to an Aqara Hub before connecting to Apple HomeKit or enabling skills in Google Home and Alexa. The sensor is not compatible with SmartThings.
