The Aqara Motion and Light Sensor P2 seamlessly integrates with the robust Matter platform and is compatible with Apple Home, Amazon Alexa, and Samsung. (*NOTE: To add P2, please refer to the A+ content for supported 2-in-1 Matter Controller & Thread Border Router. The P2 currently DOESN'T SUPPORT the Aqara Home app, but it will soon with added features through the Matter-compatible Aqara border router). Based on the Thread protocol, Sensor P2 provides enhanced connectivity, low-power consumption, high reliability, and low latency. Meanwhile, with the FFS feature, the P2 will allow for seamless connection with your home network through Amazon Echo devices.

The Aqara Motion and Light Sensor P2's built-in infrared and light sensor monitors the presence of people in an area and lighting values, allowing you to easily achieve automation for various tasks in your home, such as flexible automations for curtains and lighting. Compared to the Aqara motion sensor P1, the Motion and Light P2 includes a separate light sensor that can be used independently for automations, apart from motion detection, and is compatible with Matter. (*NOTE: Alexa DOESN'T SUPPORT light sensor functionality)

The P2 sensor can detect movement across a wider area range of up to 7 meters/23 feet, at an angle of up to 170° horizontally, and 45° vertically. The data is from laboratory testing, conducted in a 25 °C / 77 °F environment. It also comes with a versatile 360° stand, that allows you to easily adjust the viewing angle, and it can only trigger the sensor when it's needed. The detection angle and the sensitivity may vary depending on the ambient temperature and the distance. The device comes with medium sensitivity by default, but you can set the various sensitivity levels on the Aqara Home APP later according to seasonal changes or needs.

You can integrate the Motion and Light Sensor P2 with your smart home ecosystem to enable advanced automations and energy efficiency. You'll be able to schedule different automations based on the brightness in the room to achieve circadian lighting and ambient control. Moreover, the automations are executed without the cloud, which can protect the user's privacy and will keep working even if there is no internet connection.

Thanks to its compact wireless design and adjustable stand, the Sensor P2 can easily be installed on a wall, ceiling, or a particular zone, and set up with ease. The Motion Detector and Light Sensor P2 has a powerful 2*CR2450 Lithium battery and provides up to 2 years of power for round-the-clock security, one of the longest battery life among Matter over Thread sensors. (NOTE: The battery life depends on the particular Matter ecosystem and the number of Matter ecosystems the device is connected to. And please pull the battery tab out before using.)

The Aqara Motion and Light Sensor P2 Requires a Matter Controller & Thread Border Router 2-in-1 to seamlessly integrate with Matter. Currently, the following hubs are tested: Apple, Samsung, and Amazon.
